This 1976 GMC Vandura 2500 is a rare find, being one of only 500 units customized with a Freedom '76 conversion package by Leisure & Recreational Products (LRP) of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Showing just 23,000 miles, it boasts a host of unique features including bubble windows, side pipes, 15 inch turbine-style wheels, swiveling chairs, shag carpets, a musical horn, an eight-track cassette player, a refrigerator, a sink, and a flat-folding convertible rear bench. Under the hood, it's powered by a 350ci V8 engine mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Its exterior is finished in white with stars-and-stripes graphics on black backgrounds, and it's adorned with hooded headlights, curb feelers, Tasmanian Devil mudflaps, a luggage rack, a rear ladder, six tinted bubble windows, and side exhaust pipes. Exploration-themed murals decorate the sides between the rear windows. Riding on alloy 15 inch wheels with 255/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, it has a 125 inch wheelbase, power-assisted steering, and front disc brakes. Inside, the front swiveling chairs are upholstered in white vinyl over blue shag carpeting, extending to the roof, door panels, and curtains. Upfront amenities include air conditioning, a center console, a Craig AM/FM/eight-track stereo, a rearview mirror with a back-up camera display, and controls for an electronic musical horn. The rear cabin boasts two additional swiveling chairs, a tufted white headliner and side panels, round tables, a sink, a refrigerator, a Sony portable television, and a flat-folding rear bench. The carbureted 5.7-liter V8 engine provides power to the rear wheels through the three-speed automatic transmission.
