The 1971 Saab Sonett III is a highly unique, front-wheel-drive Swedish sports car known for its lightweight fiberglass body, compact dimensions, and distinct aviation-influenced design heritage. Intended primarily for the North American market, it represents the third and final generation of Saab's niche sports car lineup.
The Sonett III received a sleek, more angular aesthetic compared to its predecessor, thanks to work by Italian designer Sergio Coggiola alongside Saab's Gunnar A. Sjogren.
The Sonett III stands as the most commercially successful version of the Sonett line, with 8,368 total units produced from 1970 to 1974. Production of the 1971 model year specifically accounted for 1,952 units.
Part of the Duncan Imports collection since 2015, this untouched, exceptionally low mile Saab Sonett was bought new in San Diego and has been in the same family it's entire life prior to us acquiring it. It comes with the original manual, warranty book and Saab warranty card. Factory paint looks fantastic and the original leather seats show very well with only the slightest patina from age. Original spare has never been used and the jack is still in the original pouch.
