The 1993 Acura Legend LS is the top-tier luxury trim of Acura's iconic second-generation flagship model (1991-1995). Celebrated for its longitudinal front-wheel-drive layout, striking design, and bulletproof Honda reliability, this model year is highly sought after by modern collectors. Notably, rapper Ludacris famously still owns and drives his original 1993 Legend.
The 1993 model year introduced significant mechanical divergence between the two body styles:
- LS Coupe: Received the upgraded, higher-output Type II 3.2L V6 engine pushing 230 horsepower. It featured a brand new 6-speed manual transmission as standard equipment, making it a performance icon. It also came with unique premium details like soft-close automatic doors.
- LS Sedan: Retained the standard Type I 3.2L V6 engine producing 200 horsepower. For 1993, the LS sedan permanently lost its manual transmission option, selling strictly as a 4-speed automatic. (The 230-hp Type II engine and 6-speed manual didn't arrive on the sedan until the 1994 GS trim).
