    Dealer Notes

The 1980 Toyota Celica GT is a standout model from the second generation (1978-1981) of Toyota's iconic sports coupe. Positioned as the top-tier, more luxurious trim level above the base ST, the 1980 model year holds a special place in classic Japanese car history due to unique styling updates and rare limited editions.
The 1980 model year introduced a distinct mid-cycle facelift that makes it easy to differentiate from earlier second-generation cars:
    - Headlights: Changed from the traditional quad round headlamps to modern quad rectangular halogen headlamps.
    - Bumpers & Trim: Swapped out bright chrome work for flat black bumpers and trim.
    - Interior: The GT trim distinguished itself with a faux brushed aluminum instrument panel (compared to the ST's faux woodgrain) and upgraded interior lighting.
To commemorate Toyota's official connection to the U.S. Grand Prix West race in Long Beach, California, a limited "U.S. Grand Prix" (USGP) GT Liftback edition was offered strictly for the 1980 model year. Only 600 units were produced (200 in red, 200 in white, and 200 in blue).
The USGP package added a honeycomb grille, Grand Prix body stripes, flat-black B-pillars, and 14-inch alloy wheels. Inside, it featured ivory-colored vinyl seats with black piping, a black leather-wrapped steering wheel, a designated dash plaque, and a premium 3-piece audio system with a graphic equalizer.
Part of the Duncan Imports collection since 2016, this extremely low mileage car was garage kept and is in excellent condition.
