This numbers-matching example is extremely well documented, supported by an
impressive collection of original paperwork, receipts, and photographs confirming its
authenticity and history. Included is the original handwritten GM Retail Order Form
from Gloves Cities Chevrolet in Gloversville, New York, ordered for retail delivery to the
original buyer in Tacoma, Washington. Also included are the original Owner's Manual
and Protect-O-Plate, still attached, showing a delivery date of May 22, 1966.
Further documentation includes an NCRS Shipping Data Report, along with numerous
receipts covering replacement parts and professional body shop work performed over
the years. Of particular note is documentation for a professional engine rebuild of the
legendary L-79 327ci / 350-horsepower Turbo-Fire V8. During the rebuild, the original
block was magnafluxed and bored .030-over, with the rotating assembly professionally
balanced. Photographs taken during the process clearly show the correct casting
numbers on both the block and cylinder heads, which were also reworked to include
hardened valve seats for improved durability.
Power is delivered through the original Muncie M21 close-ratio 4-speed transmission,
which has also been refreshed. Out back, the car retains its original 12-bolt Posi-traction
rear differential with 3.73 gears, complete with documented embossed markings
