The 1975 Opel Manta owned by the late legendary collector Steven Juliano was a standout vehicle sold from his estate at auction in 2019. While Juliano was universally famous for his ultra-rare Shelby Cobras and Plymouth Rapid Transit show cars, an Opel Manta holds a special place in his history because a Manta was his very first car.
Juliano spent years searching for the absolute best surviving example of a Manta to honor his first vehicle. He had previously purchased another Manta and spent a fortune having it fully restored. However, once he discovered this specific, remarkably low-mileage, time-capsule 1975 model, he sold the restored car because this factory-original example was superior.
Though a highly preserved car, it underwent minor alterations under Juliano's care:
- Paint & Styling: Finished in White paint with a custom matte black hood.
- Interior: Striking Red bucket seat interior.
- Transmission: Mechanical context from the car's restorer indicates the car was painted and converted to an automatic transmission during Juliano's ownership.
- Hardware: Equipped with original four-spoke sport wheels, power brakes, and aluminum safety bumpers.
With just 4000 original miles this Opel Manta has been a part of the Duncan Imports collection since 2019.
