Buying Sight Unseen

At Duncan Imports & Classics, we want you to feel completely confident in your purchase. We highly encourage you to visit us, inspect our vehicles, and take them for a test drive. For a closer look, you are even welcome to use our on-site shop for a full pre-purchase inspection. Because everyone has different expectations, nothing compares to seeing a classic car in person. However, if you choose to purchase sight-unseen, we are here to support you-we simply ask that you review all available details and ask us any questions beforehand. Your satisfaction is our top priority, no matter how you choose to buy.

Know the Risks of Buying Sight Unseen

While we love welcoming clients in person, we know that traveling isn't always possible. In fact, buying sight-unseen has become the preferred choice for many of our buyers. We have proudly built a reputation for accurately representing our vehicles, backed by a 96% customer satisfaction rate.
However, vehicle condition is highly subjective-what one person considers excellent, another might view as average. While our descriptions are thorough and transparent, we cannot account for every individual expectation. Purchasing a vehicle without seeing it in person always carries a small, inherent risk. This risk is entirely eliminated if you choose to inspect the vehicle firsthand, but ultimately, the choice to buy sight-unseen rests with you.
Sight Unseen Buy Back Policy

We want you to feel confident buying from us, even from afar.
If your sight-unseen vehicle doesn't align with your expectations, you can utilize Duncan Imports and Classics Buy Back Policy to return it for 75% of the purchase price. Because remote buying introduces unique challenges for both sides, the 25% difference represents a shared responsibility. It allows you a flexible backup plan while helping us cover the time, labor, and costs of re-preparing and remarketing the vehicle.

Managing Expectations in Classic Car Ownership

Owning a classic car is an adventure that requires realistic expectations. These are vintage machines, and no amount of restoration can match the reliability of a modern vehicle. Part of the joy-and the reality-of collecting classic cars is knowing that anything can happen at any time.
We curate our inventory with care. Every vehicle undergoes a standard visual inspection and test drive both when it arrives and before it leaves our lot, and we fix any immediate issues we find. However, we do not disassemble the vehicles to inspect all 34,000+ individual components, nor can we guarantee the exact workmanship of restorations done by previous owners.
Like any classic, future performance and reliability cannot be guaranteed. Embracing a vintage car means embracing its history, its quirks, and the certainty of ongoing maintenance. Our goal is simply to give you the honest information you need to make an informed decision you feel good about.
