The 2000 Honda Civic Si (chassis code EM1) is one of the most legendary sport compact cars of the turn of the millennium. Known for its high-revving engine and lightweight chassis, it represents the absolute pinnacle of the sixth-generation Honda Civic line. Because many were modified or abused, finding a clean, stock example today has turned this former budget hero into a highly valuable modern classic.
What Makes It Special
- The VTEC "Kick": The B16A2 engine features variable valve timing. Below 6,000 RPM, it drives like a sensible commuter car. Once you cross the 6,000 RPM VTEC threshold, the engine note changes drastically and the car rushes to its 8,000 RPM redline.
- Upgraded Underpinnings: Compared to standard Civics, the Si received a stiffer sport suspension, progressive-rate springs, a front strut tower brace, and upgraded front/rear anti-roll bars. It was also the only US 6th-gen Civic to feature four-wheel disc brakes.
- Factory Aesthetics: The Si was sold exclusively as a coupe. It stood out with a unique front chin spoiler, side skirts, a mesh grille, 15-inch alloy wheels, and signature "VTEC" decals on the lower rear quarter panels.
Part of the Duncan Imports collection since 2021 this car has recently been release for sale at Duncan Imports & Classics.
