The 1983 Honda Civic 1500 DX (Deluxe) marks the final production year of the second-generation Honda Civic. It serves as a legendary milestone for affordable, ultra-reliable Japanese commuter cars.
Engine & Performance:
- Engine Type: 1.5-liter (1,488 cc) SOHC inline 4-cylinder.
- Combustion System: Features Honda's famous Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion (CVCC) clean-burn technology.
- Power Output: Generates approximately 67 horsepower.
- Fuel Requirements: Emissions regulations required a catalytic converter, meaning this trim mandated unleaded fuel.
- Transmission Options: Available with a standard 5-speed manual transaxle or an optional 3-speed automatic transmission.
Positioned above the base 1300 model, the Deluxe (DX) trim added several quality-of-life improvements:
- Partial cloth bucket seats and full interior carpeting.
- Rear window defroster and a rear window wiper.
- Intermittent front windshield wipers.
- Pop-out rear side windows for better cabin ventilation.
This original Civic has just 18,000 miles and was originally purchased at Penske Honda. It has been in the Duncan Imports collection since 2019.
