The 1940 Ford Street Rod is widely considered one of the holy grails of American customer automotive history. Combining classic Art Deco aesthetics with modern drivability, it represents the ideal blueprint for pre-1949 custom "street rod" vehicles.
Originally powered by an 85-horsepower Flathead V8, the 1940 Ford featured an updated, aerodynamic front end, prominent vertical grille, and a heavily tapered rear deck lid that quickly became a favorite of hot rodders and legendary moonshine runners. Its fat-fendered styling, especially in the 5-window and DeLuxe coupe body configurations, provides the perfect canvas for extreme custom fabrications.
This particular car was originally owned by Shorty Whitworth before being sold to Tommy Heud in the 1960's. In 2002 the car was built into a streetrod by Tommy before his passing with the following upgrades:
    Chassis:
    - T.C.I. Frame
    - Front Coil Overshocks
    - 8" Ford Rear End
    - Front Disc Brakes
    Engine:
    - GM Crate Engine
    - 350 with 330 hp
    - Walker Radiator
    - Sanderson Exhaust Headers
    - Flow Master Mufflers (Dual)
    - 350 GM Transmission

    - Genuine Leather Upholstery
    - Insert Gauges V.D.O.
