The Mitsubishi Pajero Junior Flying Pug is an incredibly rare, limited-production, retro-styled mini-SUV produced by Mitsubishi in Japan from September 1997 to June 1998. Conceived during the 1990s retro-design craze, it was designed to emulate a classic British car or London taxi.
Mitsubishi originally planned to build 1,000 units, but the heavily criticized exterior design---coupled with the 1997 Asian financial crisis---resulted in a massive sales flop. As a result, only 139 examples were ever produced, making it a highly sought-after collector's item today.
